The Walker County Office of Emergency Management reports that as of Thursday, July 30, at 4 PM, 677 active cases of coronavirus were reported in the county, with 421 recovered and 4 deceased. Nine new community cases were reported on July 29.
Among TDCJ offenders in the county, there were 73 active cases reported with 1,882 recovered.
Among TDCJ employees in the county, there were 107 active cases reported with 254 recovered.
The next community testing dates are August 4, 11, 18 and 25, 8 AM to 4 PM, at the Walker County Fairgrounds. Symptoms do not have to be present to test. Registration will be performed on-site. A valid I-D is required at the test site.
