According to a story appearing online at gobearkats.com, Sam Houston State Junior Amber Leggett reached a career milestone while leading the Sam Houston women’s basketball team to an 88-72 victory over Abilene Christian at Johnson Coliseum Wednesday. With this win, the Bearkats are 3-2 in the Southland Conference and they’ve won 3-in-a-row. Next up for the Bearkat Women will be a home game on January 27th when they host A&M Corpus Christi.

In a battle of the unbeaten’s, the Sam Houston State men’s basketball team knocked off Abilene Christian 64-57 at Johnson Coliseum Wednesday night. According to a story appearing online at gobearkats.com, with this win, the Bearkats have won 9-in-a-row and they’re now at 6-0 in the Southland Conference and 12-5 overall. Next up for the Bearkat men will be a road game on Wednesday, January 27th against A&M Corpus Christi.

Sam Houston baseball team released their schedule for the upcoming 2021 season on Wednesday. According to a story appearing online at gobearkats.com, Sam Houston’s schedule takes into consideration the current COVID-19 pandemic and the likelihood that all games will not be played as scheduled. Additionally, Bearkat Athletics is currently working to determine COVID protocols, seating layout and official capacity for Don Sanders Stadium for the 2021 season. All games released are subject to change and fans are encouraged to routinely check GoBearkats.com and Bearkat Athletics’ social media channels for updates to the schedule throughout the year.  The schedule includes 31 games currently scheduled at Don Sanders Stadium, starting on February 19 with a season-opening three-game series with Oklahoma State. Other key non-conference games at The Don include Texas A&M (April 6) and Baylor (April 13). Lastly, the Southland Conference Tournament is set to open up on May 26 at location still to be confirmed.
