CITY COUNCIL MEETS THIS EVENING

The Huntsville City Council meets for a regular session this evening at six at City Hall.

Councilmembers will hear proclamations on National Library Week and Sexual Assault Awareness Week.

They will hold a Public Hearing to hear comments on the Conditional Use Permit Application for a Self-Storage Facility to be expanded on property located at 20 FM 1791.

Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes an ordinance to amend the budget for Fiscal Year 20-21 and/or capital improvement project budgets. Councilmembers will also consider purchase of office supplies and related items estimated at $53,000 from Office Depot utilizing OMNIA Partners Purchasing Cooperative.

On tonight’s “Statutory Agenda,” councilmembers will consider the Conditional Use Permit Application for a Self-Service Storage Facility to be expanded on property located at 20 FM 1791.

Also tonight, City Attorney Leonard Schneider will address the council on considering an ordinance suspending the rates proposed by Centerpoint Energy Resources Corporation doing-business-as Center Point Energy Entex Gas Reliability Infrastructure Program filing made with the City on March 4, 2021.

Councilmembers will also consider approving nominees for the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number One Board of Directors.

Councilmembers will discuss Items of Community Interest.

In closed “Executive Session,” councilmembers will meet to discuss the vacant City Secretary position and to receive legal advice on complaints made by Jesus Rodriguez.

They will reconvene and take action on “Executive Session” items, if necessary.
